ANNUAL CHARITY GUMBO PARTY
Since 2002, Smith & Associates, LLC has sponsored an annual Gumbo Party benefitting various charities in the St. Louis Metropolitan Area.  The community is invited to this free event each December.  Over the years, our Gumbo Party has generated thousands of dollars in donations to over ten nonprofit organizations such as:
               OBS Youth Camp
               Oprah’s Angel Network  (benefitting children in Darfur, Sudan)
               Gateway Sickle Cell Disease Association
               Kinloch Learning Center

 ANNUAL MOLINE ACRES YOUTH MOCK TRIAL
Each year, our legal staff coordinates a Youth Mock Trial in Moline Acres, Missouri.  Children ages 5-18  are invited to learn about trial advocacy skills, courtroom procedure, and public speaking.  Children learn the roles of lawyers, witnesses, judges, and courtroom personnel in this fun, interactive activity.  Mock trial participants learn about the legal  and court system  by acting out the roles of Judge, Prosecutor, Defense Lawyer, Witnesses, and Jurors.  After the “verdict” is read, the participants meet real attorneys who share their experiences in the practice of law.
